DeviceNet is a simple and opened network solution. It can efficiently reduce the wiring cost and the system setting time. Now, PISO-DNS100U is released to provide users the DeviceNet slave solution in PC-based applications. PISO-DNS100U lets a PC be a virtual DeviceNet slave station, therefore the remote DeviceNet master device can exchange data with the PC via DeviceNet network. It has a built-in 80186-80M Hz CPU running the DeviceNet slave protocol. The application program on PC can access the DeviceNet network through the Universal PCI bus and the DPRAM of PISO-DNS100U. This method not only reduces the system loading, but also provides a highly efficient control. In addition, we offer a convenient software tool, multifunction library and some demos to help users quickly build up their DeviceNet system under different development environments such as BCB, VB, VC, and etc. Comparing with the PISO-DNS100, PISO-DNS100U provides 5V and 3.3V Universal PCI interface. The library and APIs of these two boards are totally compatible. Users can rapidly upgrade their system from PISO-DNS100 to PISO-DNS100U without any effort. ICP DAS also provides a variety of DeviceNet master PCI boards to meet specific requirements. By using the free DNS Toolkit, users can configure the virtual DeviceNet slave station easily. This toolkit offers lots of functions for convenient management operations, such as adding and removing virtual devices, changing the baud rate of DeviceNet port, and create EDS file dynamically. Besides, this toolkit can export the configuration information of the PISO-DNS100U to be a file or import the configuration information of the PISO-DNS100U from a file. It may be helpful when users want to build several same systems. These features enable users to develop their DeviceNet slave applications easily, and obviously reduce development time and cost. |
