ICP DAS New Product
vxc-112A:PCI Bus, 2-port RS-232 Communication Board
|
|
|
|
|
|
The VXC-112A card provides two independent RS-232 serial ports. Each port can be used in half-duplex or full-duplex communication. Users can either select a specified COM port number manually by setting the COM-Selector (dip switch), or let the driver choose an available number automatically. The driver provides a maximum of 128KB software FIFO for each COM port under Windows. It is practical for large file transmission.
In a harsh industrial environment, the on board surge protection can protect the computer and equipment from being damaged by high potential voltage. |

Introduction to COM-Selector:
Many company's Plug&Play (PnP) COM port devices (such as USB device and PCI card) allocate a dynamical COM port number for the added new port. This unknown COM port number always confuse users. Each VXC series card equips with a special COM-Selector (dip switch) for the COM port number selection. Users can then choose a number by themself without confusion. However, automatically COM port number selection by system is also supported.
The COM-Selector is a very important and innovative feature of the VXC cards. It provides the following advantages:
-
Users can select a COM port number by themself, prevents users' confusion by the unknown COM port number.
-
Simplifies the COM port number selection without using any configuration utility programs. And Users do not need to install and study any configuration utility for different OS.
-
Users can specify the COM port number exactly what they want, no matter which PCI slot the card is using.
-
Automatic selection of an available COM port number is supported by setting the COM-Selector (dip switch) to 0 (default).
-
Replace any existing card is very easy by setting the COM-Selector to the same number as the old one.
-
It is very useful for the mass system installation since the same COM port number can be easily chosen by setting the COM-Selector.
