Q: What's difference between 7188EN and PDS-700?

¡@

Both I-7188EN and PDS-700 have built-in a VxComm firmware for virtual COM applications.

PDS-700 is the enhanced version of I-7188EN and has very high compatibility with the I-7188EN. But please note that the firmware of I-7188EN and PDS-700 are only compatibility in source code level, thus you cannot run the firmware of I-7188EN in PDS-700 directly.

Most functions for I-7188EN are also available for the PDS-700. For upgrading your own firmware to the PDS-700, it is just required to recompile and link with the lib of PDS-700 without source code modification.

For better performance, PDS-700 has improvements in the following features:
1. PDS-700 series have the CPU frequency 2 times higher than 7188EN (40MHz ¡÷ 80MHZ), bigger SDRAM (384 KB ¡÷ 512KB), EEPROM (2 KB ¡÷ 16KB) and lower power consumption.

2. For better Ethernet performance, PDS-700 supports 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet (Auto-negotiating, auto MDI/MDI-X, LED indicator). I-7188EN only supports 10BASE-Tx Ethernet.

3. PDS-700 supports more models that allow you to choose, and it has more features such as Frame-Ground design for ESD protection and Virtual I/O.

4.Comparison Sheet of I-7188EN and PDS-700:
